Regular Member hairbgoin Posted February 16, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted February 16, 2004 I'd like to hear some tips that helped you relax and be comfortable while undergoing HT surgery. What I've gathered so far is: -wear a button up shirt for ease of removal -watch movies -check out Vancouver's skyline Anything else that you would do, request, or bring with you the day of surgery? It is going to be a very long day, so any help would be appreciated. ----------------------------------------------------------

Senior Member Rugger Posted February 16, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted February 16, 2004 Hair.. having just gone through 13 hours of grafts at HW in December, i can honestly tell you it was FAR more relaxing than I ever imagined...even fell asleep three times during the procedure...the dvd list is pretty good...you can get up and use the restroom any time you like..or just get up and stretch your legs...the reclining chair they put you in is real comfortable... its pretty much a breeze..i know that everyone i talked to told me it would be, but I had my own reservations...but i was very pleasantly surprised...you'll be in great hands.. ------------------------------ 4600 grafts/ 12/10/2003/ Dr. Jerry Wong Aren't you glad you know me, and have such easy access to my dementia??? Senior Member Rugger Posted February 16, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted February 16, 2004 I guess there would be ONE piece of advice i would give you...if youre driving there, dont park in the bottom of their building...i got broken into while i was in surgery..Vancouver police and border guys told me its pretty common for car thieves to hit cars with American plates... ------------------------------ 4600 grafts/ 12/10/2003/ Dr. Jerry Wong Aren't you glad you know me, and have such easy access to my dementia??? Regular Member hairbgoin Posted February 16, 2004 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 16, 2004 thanks for the response Rugger and sorry to hear about your car. I plan on catching a cab from my hotel. Hope I can fall asleep. I cant imagine I will be able to having a bunch of people dabbing at my head. That would be nice, wake up and it's all over! ----------------------------------------------------------
