I was just reading an article about hair regeneration and would like to find out what you guys think about this, with it possibly being "available on the market" in 2010? Looks promising eh?

It will not be on the market by 2010 mate, they gave that as an earliest date but they have been delayed all the way through.

I also believe if/when it's realeased, it is going be used to thicken up transplants and not offered as a stand alone treatment. I have also read they have done a deal with Bosley - so in other words, you'll need to risk getting butchered by having a transplant from those pigs in order to benifit from it.

The last I read they were coming to an end of the phase 2 trials, that being the case - it will not be on the market for 2010.

Maxxy, you will not be butchered because this is NOT a typical strip HT procedure. They will FUE extract around 200 grafts, clone them, an then give you shots. The hair will start growing (supposedly). This whole thing (according to what I've read) supposed to "wake up" your cells.

I do know that that dr. Cooley is working with Intercytex regarding hair multiplication. Maybe he can offer to his patients. In any case, it is still very premature to discuss this as the research is still ongoing.

I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own.

Farjo is also working on trials. That has no bearing on who will be given rights to the treatment.

Taking from another site.

In 2004 an option was granted to Bosley giving it the first right to negotiate a distribution

agreement for male ICX-TRC in return for certain payments linked to milestones. The option must

be exercised within 6 months of completion of the Phase II trial. If Bosley and the Company have

not entered into a distribution agreement by the end of the option period the Company may seek

other distributors subject to certain rights of Bosley to match third party offers

Another

Market entry together with an existing player in the hair transplant field, such as

Bosley Medical, should help to de-risk this critical phase and negate the need for

significant upfront investments in commercial infrastructure in the USA.

Bosley Medical has been granted an option giving the company the right of first

negotiation to commercialise IXC-TRC. Bosley could provide immediate access to

over 7,000 patients, together with 13 clinics and 80 information centres to support

pre- and post-launch education and communication programmes.

If ICX-TRC works, there is no way in hell Bosley is going to pass.
