Regular Member Approach Posted January 13 Regular Member Share Posted January 13 I've been reading that some surgeons -- that do megasessions via FUE-- sometimes cross into Non-Donor areas of the head. The patient gets a full head of new hair initially. But, the some of the transplanted hair has the potential not to last, long term since it was outside of donor hair to begin with. Do some reputable surgeons truly do this? Is this something to be very concerned about, or just mildly concerned?
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted January 13 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 13 This does happen. This is why it’s important to be on medication like Finasteride. There really is no ‘safe zone.’ There is a DHT resistant zone and over the years this might be affected by DHT also.
