Shedding on Finasteride Almost Two Years After Starting Treatment

Hi all,

 

I’ve been taking 1mg finasteride daily since October of 2021. Up until then I had been using topical minoxidil. I kept using a regiment of both until December 2022 when I stopped using minoxidil cause it seemed like the fin had effectively stabilized my hair loss. 

 

However, since May I’ve entered a period of consistent shedding similar to the initial sheds I was undergoing pre-fin and min. 

 

I know there’s typically cycles of shedding on finasteride but it’s coming up on four months now. Is this a normal length for a period of shedding or is the finasteride losing its effectiveness?

Yeh there are phases in a hair cycle with or without finasteride....plus 50-100 hair fall a day is considered normal...but if you the hair fall is more than that and persists for more than you should consult a good doctor for that..
