I was curious, how do transplant surgeons know where in your scalp to make incisions for new grafts? How do they know if your existing hair follicle there there might be completely gone and unlikely to grow hair vs follicles that are just dormant as part of normal shedding? They only implant on areas with clear signs of miniaturisation or loss. The odds of transecting a healthy, non miniaturised telogen follicle during incisions, is very small.
