EUGENIX, DR DAS and TEAM, JANUARY... HOPEFULLY HELPFUL INSIGHT

Without pictures these posts are never great... but I hope to share my experience about some of the other things people ask about.

Went to Eugenix and had Dr. Das and her team do a smaller procedure  and like generally all the posts here, work was solid. Eugenix was for me all you read about. Professional, the whole bit. Just great. And you might bump into some forum members as I did, great meeting and chatting with you @Gatsby also bumped into Dr. Sethi who was there at the same time as G. So all that was good. I am a month out and all is looking according to plan. Happy with everything so far. 

But to the other questions that arise on here and ones I had in my researching.

TRAVEL:

Ok so I was coming from the US, east coast. And it's a long haul. Doable yes, but long. The route I got was US to Paris then Paris to Delhi. 10 hours each stretch, with a slight layover. 

I had been considering Dr. Gur as well... it would have been about half of that flight wise. But thought oh well, it's just another 10 hours, how bad can it be? Well... evaluate how you handle travel, I was ok. But it's a haul no question. I flew flying back was Delhi to London then London to US also two 10 hour jaunts. 

I chose aisle seats. Getting up and stretching the legs helps and particularly on the way back getting up to spray grafts in the bathroom. It was day 4 so every hourish or couple hours. I also wore the blue medical cap back. It's funny with that on everybody gives you a little space. So for folks wondering about that... just grin and bear it. Nobody cares, you'll be fine. Also I like the aisle seats, be mindful as folks come in and get their luggage sorted but aside from that, it's better to me than having to crawl over folks every time you wanna get up. And drink more than you're usual share of water, for such a haul. I bought some on each leg for the flights.

ARRIVAL:

Ok so as mentioned in some of the excellent write ups of Eugenix... you can log onto wifi for whats app communication. I have verizon and had some international travel passes so just used that to communicate and sure enough a driver was there, nice and matter of fact, he took me to the hotel. Oh their customs... have your evisa email printed out. Line wasn't bad for me. So thankfully that was quick.

HOTEL BAANI HILTON:

They're great. Very friendly, nice dining room. Room was nice. Food service and menu options are great and they supply you plenty of water. Though I did walk across the street to pick up some extra to keep hydrated plenty. A couple times post op, I'd go walk around a little. Not much to do right around there and I didn't explore much but going for a walk then sitting in the lobby and people watching and scrolling the phone was nice. I also then wore the blue medical cap in those instances... it's fine. Don't sweat bringing a hat, not an issue. For westerners, explore the food on the menu for sure but also try the risotto with chicken... hits the spot!

DAY OF SURGERY: 

Again as I've said  Eugenix delivers. Better posts exist with pictures and that's one of the reasons I went and made that long haul. Researching on here was incredibly helpful. Really great reviews who cover this experience very well. I'll just say, 100% lived up to that. I did fuss with the design some to get what I was looking for and Dr. Das was so kind and accommodating to that. so don't hesitate to speak up if you are a more shy person or something, she's awesome as is the whole entire team. From the driver who gets you to all your interactions, Eugenix is hospitality aced. So great.

POST OP:

Follow all the instructions. just chill and spray and duck your head into cars all the usual stuff. I like their approach to post op. I would HIGHLY recommend staying a day or two post op. My surgery was on a Wednesday and I left on Sunday at 230am. So gave myself 3 days. I know folks say travel is possible day after but give yourself at least a day. I was honestly kinda ready to go on Saturday but am glad to have clocked more time just chilling. Eating and resting and watching shows. Nourish, hydrate, and rest really oughta be the motto those first few days and flying for 20 hours didn't seem wise. 

I also went to the clinic daily for the donor wash attention which was nice and broke up day for me and it was nice seeing folks at Eugenix, had a latte one of the days there so that was pleasant.. But it really was about rest and chilling other than that. 

DEPARTURE:

This was a little squirrelly for me. Not bad just make you you are prepared. I was flying Virgin Atlantic back and finding their counters was a little tough, unlike my arrival the place was PACKED, folks everywhere. So that took a minute locating them, (hint just find the international boarding area) they also didn't have a kiosk to print a ticket but thought my phone email ticket would suffice.

The line for international travel was long and I had my boarding pass on my phone unaware I need a paper copy. Thankfully by the time I got to the man who said no dice you need a paper copy the desk told me to go get it and I could bypass the line. So that took some doing, but was fine. Just be prepared and have your Eugenix letter good to travel ready, the lady seemed to need to review it and they asked me if I felt ok to travel. They'll also let you through security  with your liquids with it... not a big hassle or anything. Just show those folks and they'll size you up and check out your spray bottle and stuff.

My flight as mentioned was for 230am I left the hotel at 1130pm... gave me plenty of time to get through  all that. On the drive there my driver got into a fender bender with another car which had me like🤔 ok what's the play now then... but thankfully the drivers sorted it and we were on our way.

That's my take on it all, second procedure for me (first was here in the states and was 85% spot on). Thought I'd try to share on as much as I could think of surrounding the actual procedure for those who might be thinking about travel to India, travel in general, or Dr. Das and  Eugenix. Again others have covered it much far better than me so if you read this and are looking for more on Eugenix, read up on @NARMAK and @BaldingEagle1 among the many others for some great detailed experiences.

Gatsby again. Has anyone ever been to Eugenix without meeting Gatsby? 😋

Nice write-up despite no pics. I plan to do my write-up when I get to 6 months, but so far my experience was the same as yours except that I stayed the first days at Westin. Nice hotel, but not the greatest location. I was told that it was impossible to go anywhere from there, and since I came a couple of days early it would have been nice to walk around and check out the area. Also no malls or shops close by. But yes, Eugenix itself was good and is ran very smoothly with people ready to help at every turn. Very similar to your impressions.

What swayed you to go with Dr Das over Dr Gur?

How many grafts were transplanted? Did you have PRP done during surgery?

Good Luck. Dr Das is a good choice of Eugenix. Lower Packages of eugenix can produce good result too. What was the price per graft in your case ?

Smaller procedure and wanted to get back to normal sooner than later...  I'm pretty active so post op FUT wasn't as appealing and FUE these days yeild excellent results whereas before FUT had that edge.

So it really was a toss up... I'd say volume of results coupled with scheduling were the main factors.. . about 1300 grafts and yes they did PRP.  I had them both cost factored, flight time, approx date of surgery, time needed to complete trip, extra days at hotel... the whole bit and Eugenix just worked out better for me.

Thanks, it was the exclusive package,  it's on their website I booked in late November so it may have changed, their website has a whole rundown on their packages. I was weighing the premium package too, but Dr Das and her team were awesome... their tech there are seasoned pros.

I cant find their price catalogue in their website anymore. Have they removed it? if I remember well the exclusive package was the 120RS ?
