Senior Member HairEnthusiast101 Posted January 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) Does this look like retrograde? I usually get like a 1 into a 2 on the sides but this is about 2 months after a haircut so it kind of grows like this. If so can anything be done? Senior Member MAIZE1694 Posted January 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2023 Sometimes its hard to tell retro alopecia, not everyone has the same density. Average - below average density + greasy hair + grown out with different lengths = its going to look thin. Go see a dermatologist if you're concerned.

Is a trichologist good as well? Those areas around my ear are always a little thinner. My nape just grows different directions but does not look the same density as above. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted January 7, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 7, 2023 I would see a dermatologist. I'm not a doctor or specialist but for what it's worth I found that oral minoxidil helped with my own retrograde alopecia. All the best @JoDimaggio22. 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

Always good to hear your insight. Does retrograde typically ever bald or just always stay that think look?

There may be hair that remains but not enough to give a cosmetic appearance. All the best! Its maybe a difficult question to answer, but how strong was your retrograde alopecia in your opinion? Did you get turned down by surgeons because of this?
