O_O_O_O_O
Hi All, I have a chronic Folliculitis for 15 years now. It inflames mostly at what should be a donor area (I.E at the back of head). I'm handling it mostly with Acnemycin (plus) and some years been taking Minocycline as well. I went to some hair transplant clinics to see if I can do the transplant procedure. One of the clinics suggested me to do a PRP shot around 1 month before the surgery in order to treat the Folliculitis. Is PRP have been studied / knows to treat Folliculitis ? I've never seen studies of it anywhere online. Thanks
Senior Member HappyMan2021 Posted July 23, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted July 23, 2022 Not saying PRP doesn't have its use cases, but always be a bit skeptical towards it. In my own personal experience and observations, it does nothing and it just a really easy way for a clinic to add another $1k to you bill. My first step for folliculitis would be a dermatologist, not a profit-driven clinic or hairmill.

Senior Member splitting hairs Posted July 24, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted July 24, 2022 No evidence for PRP helping folliculitis. Consult with reputable clinics and they will steer you right. _________________________________________________ Propecia since July 2008 2201 Grafts with Dr Lorenzo on 19.10.22 - See my write up here:
