Senior Member Julius Posted January 3, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted January 3, 2010 I have been using topical minox for over a year and I now think there is some systemic absorption with it. On the forums lately they have been inundated with similar complaints by members See here for example: (link removed) I was told by someone who has not seen me since I began taking minox topical that my face is now rounder (& I have been doing face and neck exercises in this time and actually lost weight). Recently I accidently used about 10mls of the stuff and the next morning I woke up with a massive red swollen head and chest pains. This got me thinking about oral minox. I then found a good article on oral minox and how it is more effective than topical: http://archderm.highwire.org/c...abstract/123/11/1488 Anyone taking it needs to be on a loop diuretic and a beta blocker. I would not go above 10mg a day. I was wondering if 5 mg a day broken up into two doses of 2.5mg twelve hours apart would be effective? Recently I also found out that all beta blockers cause hair loss, so I would avoid them if possible. Using oral spiro as the diuretic is not a good idea as "spiro will act like a REVERSE Minoxidil" see this post: (link removed) I would like to take one 20mg flurosemide and two Loniten 5mg spaced twelve hours apart daily & would love to hear doctors' thoughts on this matter? Regular Member sherrybalesteros Posted January 17, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted January 17, 2010 You should not stop taking antidiuretics just to avoid hair loss. The product is specifically made for to be partneres with beta blockers and anti diuretics.
