gibson00
Hi all, new here and doing lots of reading. I have a receding hair line, not too drastic, I think I would be a 'II' on the Norwood scale. I'm interested in getting surgery to replace 1.5 - 2.5cm of frontal hair. My concern is showing up for work afterwards with a big red patch, etc, on the front of my head. I work in an office setting (IT worker), can't wear hats, etc. How do most people handle this?? Also, how many grafts would I likely need? Less than 2000? Thanks!!! Senior Member SpaceBetween Posted April 6, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 6, 2009 I'm set to get an H/T in my fronal region and the thought of going back to work has made me sick. I really don't know what to do yet. Try to get at least two weeks. My second thing to you. You say your hairline recession isn't too drastic. I would think real hard about what your plan as far as H/T will be. Yeah, you can fill in that little spot now, but think about as your hairloss gets worse. You will probably have some weird gaps. Not trying to discourage you, but just think twice. I didn't think about an h/t until I at least hit the norwood 3 mark. And then after that wanted to make sure I could keep the rest of my hair stable with meds. Current Regimen: .5mg Fin ED Minox 2x daily Nizoral 1% 2-3 times a week Fish Oil capsules w/ Omega-
gibson00
Thanks for the reply. I'm 36, and I think my hair loss has just about maxed out (I hope!) based on what I see with all of my family members/relatives. Pic attached of the hairline... Senior Member latinlotus Posted April 6, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 6, 2009 The temples are not clearly shown, but I don't think you need an HT at this time. Try medication (Propecia) to keep the hair that you have. ******** I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own. HT with Dr. Cooley on Nov 20, 2008 2097 grafts, 3957 hairs Proscar, 1.25 mg daily, skip the 5th day, started Nov 2007 My Hair Loss Blog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Cooley
