Dividing proscar for month-long use.

This one is a trivial question. But would appreciate your comments.

 

I am taking 1/4 Proscar every alternate day.

 

I am wondering, how many pills should I split at once? Any comments?

 

Also, is a typical storage that comes with the splitter is ok or I should get a more air-tight container?

IMO you should only split the pills as you need them, as once the pills are cut they will start to lose their effectiveness. Using an air-tight container is best for storage.

cutting one pill every 4th day and leaving its pieces in the cutter's storage is perfectly fine. i've been doing it ever since i started the drug just little over a year ago. just don't cut two or more of them at the same time and everything should be fine.

 

that is my belief, but still you can always double check with your doctor.

in your case it would be every 8th day, and i still think leaving it in the cutters compartment should be just fine. i take it every day so good luck.
