Before HT

Hello all,

 

Is there a protocol you need to follow before HT? Like stopping taking medications and what not?

 

I've got my HT scheduled in Turkey in 2 weeks and I was wondering if I should stop taking Fin and Rogaine.

 

Please share your experiences so that I could prepare better.

Your doctor should if gave you instructions as to what or what not to take before and after your procedure. If he hasn't thats a red flag my friend.

He told me to stay off both 7-10 days prior to HT. But I was wondering if someone who's undergone HT had been advised something different.

I wasn't told anything so I continued to use finasteride before and after surgery. It's not something that really crossed my mind before the HT as the surgery is external & not internal.

You can stay on fin just not rogain. although some doctors say stop them two weeks before the surgery some say even more. 4 weeks at tops.

Mr6435, apparently, taking minox/rogaine days prior to surgery can cause excessive bleeding.

 

So many people have undergone HTs on here but nobody seems to share their experiences. Guess people have different agendas.

thewalker10 - did your doctor not provide detailed written pre-operative instructions? Rogaine is but one of several things that you need to stop prior to your HT to prevent the possibility of excessive bleeding. Pro-Op instructions vary by clinic, but there are universal preventive measures to take, all which should have been outlined for you.
