Birthmark SMP question or advice please..

I was born with a birthmark on the right side of my head near the temple. It's also known as triangular temporal alopecia where no hair grows, and something I've always hated and tried to hide.. I was fortunate to have a friend in college who father did two hair transplants to help me gain confidence going into the workforce. He also suggested I use "couvre" to help mask it. I used to have my hair long to cover it, but now that my crown is thinning and my hair line is receeding I am thinking about maybe trying SMP to conceal the birthmark.... Any thoughts or advice from anyone else is greatly appreciated. I was hoping I might be able to do a fade from a 1-clip to a little longer on top. I don't think a HT at this point is worth it anymore with the hair line slowly receeding.
