Dr. Bijan Feriduni Posted December 18, 2014 Share Posted December 18, 2014 Forehead reduction or Surgical Hairline Advancement (SHA) and Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation performed on a 27 year old Caucasian female with: - A hereditary high hairline - Minigrafts in hairline after hair transplant surgery ex domo (2009) - Donor density of ca. 80-88 FU/cm2 - Hair diameter of ca. 72-78 microns Treatment plan: - A Botox treatment 2 weeks prior to the surgery to prepare the recipient area for the surgical hairline advancement; - Surgical hairline advancement and extraction of several wrong-placed minigrafts; - A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1000-1500 FU to reconstruct the entire hair line zone and extraction of some wrong-placed minigrafts. Performed procedures 1st Procedure (November 28th, 2012) Wound closing in double layer suture technique; Extraction of wrong-placed minigrafts with a 0.9mm – 1.0mm punch. 2nd Procedure (April 22nd, 2013) A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1790 FU * 579 single hair FU * 1211 double and triple hair FU Donor closing in double layer suture technique; Parallel incisions (single, double and triple units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm – 0.85mm); Extraction of wrong-placed minigrafts with a 0.9mm – 1.0mm punch.
