Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted August 22, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 22, 2014 There are a number of causes of female hair loss. Have you consulted with a dermatologist? If not, I suggest starting there. If your hair loss is genetic, you may find that Rogaine (minoxidil) helps. I do not recommend hair extensions as they can lead to a condition known as traction alopecia if applied incorrectly and permanent damage can occur. Depending upon the cause of your thinning hair, hair growth may return on its own in time. In the meantime, you can make your hair appear fuller with the use of hair loss concealers like Toppik, Nanogen and DermMatch. Good luck! Senior Member gillenator Posted September 18, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 18, 2014 There is also a Rogaine formula specifically for women and those with the Ludwig pattern of female hair loss. Sometimes the initial use of Rogaine (minoxidil) can induce a shed cycle. It has the potential of both increasing density and hair shaft diameter.
