Senior Member hdude46 Posted June 7, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 7, 2009 You just posted this question below! stop flooding the forum with the same thread...yes they can be effective if you pick a good doc and have realistic expectations of what can be achieved. get on propecia right away and start scheduling some consultations with these docs. I would recommend shapiro medical group and hasson & wong, those two imo opinion do the best work out of any doc here. Dr feller is right there with those two, and he would be a great choice if you live right there. good luck
Regular Member Ajhamb Posted June 8, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 8, 2009 thanks for the reply, I have recently started taking propecia and it's working. My hair loss stopped, hair seems to get thicker. how long does it normally take for hair to grow? also, do people loose hair after transplant? Senior Member imissthebarber Posted June 10, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 10, 2009 It should take 12-18 months for you to see the full effects of propecia. After a HT hair would start to grow around 3-4 months but you would not see the full results until closer to 1 year. A Hair Transplant is a decision that you cannot reverse and you should think long and hard before you go ahead especially because you may need future transplants to keep up with continued hair loss. Even if you think propecia is working for you now, there is no guarantee the effects will not wear off. Hair Transplants do work but if you look around you will find quite a few threads where patients are not satisfied with the density that can be acheived. Also there is a constant need to keep up medications after the event.
