Dr. Bijan Feriduni Posted February 26, 2010 Share Posted February 26, 2010 Follicular Unit Transplantation performed on a 22 year old Caucasian male with: - NW Class I - Donor density of ~75 FU/cm?? - Hair diameter of ~80 microns Preoperative consultation: Family history of the patient: Father is a Norwood III anterior, no other hair loss in the family. Information on the eventuality of further hair loss in the future and detailed advise on choosing the accurate hair line was given during two preoperative consultations. After close deliberation the patient decided to choose for a conservative hair line design. Treatment plan: 1 FUE procedure to reconstruct the hair line, fill in the temporal angles and the left temporal peak. Performed procedure (January 30th 2009): A Follicular Unit Extraction with 812 FU * 307 single hair FU * 505 double hair FU * No triple hair FU Extraction performed with a 0.8mm-0.85mm titanium punch. No microscopic preparation of the follicular unit grafts; Parallel incisions (single and double hair units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm ??“ 0.8mm); Dense packing technique with a density of 40-45 FU/cm?? in hair line (single units).
