Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted February 4, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted February 4, 2014 This young man comes from a family of class 7s. Additionally, to be frank, he has a large recipient area, broad balding, fine donor hair, and not very dense supply. Nevertheless, we agreed to do 2 surgeries. Our first case, shown day of surgery, suture removal, 5 months and last pic at 15 months , got us 2600 grafts and a second case around 2000. He’s just starting to grow the second case but the first case has really given him a nice cosmetic change. Actually I suggested he see one of our patients who is a stylist, to see if layering or a different partline might result in even more change and hopefully we can set this up before the second case final pictures this coming fall. This case is a tough one. Young guy, limited supply with inherent hair limitations, and high expectations, but its certainly nice to see the change occurring for him. I believe his results will impact him more over the years than a similar case in a 50 year old guy like me. I’m glad to have been able to help. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted February 11, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2014 I can't emphasize enough how this fellow in particular illustrates that styling makes such a huge difference in the results of hair transplantation. He tends to just wear his hair unstyled, which is fine for many guys his age...but given that hair transplantation does NOT CURE BALDNESS, but rather simply put hair in a bald area so that it can be styled and thereby conceal baldness....he doesn't do himself justice. He says his sister and parents say the same thing, and I suspect he'll come around in time to a more mature style for his hair in time. Uncombed, I'm satisfied with his results thus far. Combed I'm really psyched. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H.
