Hi, thanks for the reply but can you explain why you were not impressed please, I have done a lot of research but there seems to be positive and negative reports for just about everyone and everything to do with the industry lol.

He appears to have a lot of experience and all the correct qualifications,

Hi. Experience and qualifications according to whom? If your referring to the "about / meet Dr Malkani on the google search it plays some what on Mr Malkani having the honour to be invited to lecture on The Art and Sciences of Hair Restoration surgery and Hair loss in the annual meeting of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors at The Royal College of Physicians in London? Look into this as Im not sure they even exist?

Have you actually ever seen any pictures of his work? Had a consultation with him? I met him whilst he was undertaking surgery, it didn't fill me with confidence, i'm not even sure he has any tech support?

How much research have you done?

I see what you are saying but he is a member of ISHRS, BAHRS, BACD,BMA and is associated to the Kensington cosmetic clinic and landmark. He has also been getting a couple of lines in various tabloids with quotes etc on hair transplant techniques.

If you look for him on the ISHRS website he is there and it mentions the presentation you refer to and the other bodies he is a member of. I just don't seem to be able to find any negative or positive feedback on him like you can for the Farjos etc thanks again

All those things you mention are just not near enough to go on, google the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors - it looks as if its linked with "non surgical" procedures i.e botox etc, also lines on tabloids mean nothing.

I don't mean to be critical but you need to investigate him (and others) before you proceed. Hopefully other members will chip in a give you some guidance, ive seen some real horror stories on people going into surgery miss or uninformed which destroys peoples lives...

I appreciate your feedback, investigating is what I am doing now, however no negative feedback or indeed positive feedback except for what is on the Kensington cosmetic/landmark webpages. Have you had any work done ? who was it with and who would you recommend ? many thanks

Good to hear you are investigating. There's not really much else on this Dr other than that website who obviously are only going to say good things to get a sale. I was scammed by a doc in the uk (not Malkani) which was put right by a Dr in Brussels.

Here's my story

I had a second procedure yesterday BTW.

I certainly do not want to get scammed but as i say I cant find anything negative about him and he is a member of the ISHRS which is one of the main ones and FARJO ect are members of. How can I ever be sure though ?

If you are seriously thinking of having treatment with him you really do need to meet him and see his work regardless of the travel time.

Yes you hit the nail on the head there, hair loss is such an issue for some we only hear and believe what we want to - surgeons and reps no this only to well and unfortunately some use our vulnerabilities to live a rich life style and leave us with a poor result.

Good luck with your research.

There may be doctors outside this site that are very good, however IMO this site is the most comprehensive list of quality pre-screened hair transplant surgeons in the world. I would not go to anyone not recommended on this site, aside from a few doctors who have consistently proven their ability to provide outstanding results, but have simply not sought recommendation through this network.

The reality is if you are having problems finding negative or positive feedback on a clinic or surgeon you should cross them off you list. Spend some time here, there are a couple surgeons in London who are recommended here and even more in Europe and the middle east. Location should not drive your decision, but rather your decision should be based on a doctor's track record of producing consistently outstanding results.

westham1975,

Do not rush into a HT without doing more research not only on this doc, but also other docs - each doc has a different approach and those differences can yield significantly different results.

Train travel in the UK and especially Europe is so fantastic (at least compared to the USA) that there is NO REASON AT ALL for you not to travel to the continent and meet with several different doctors before you have a procedure. Make it a vacation/research trip. Travel to Belgium and meet with Dr. Feriduni, Dr. Bisanga, and several other doctors in the region, then on the way back stop in Brugges for a couple of days and eat lots of Belgium chocolate!!! It's summer - take a vacation for God's sake!!!

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SIMPLY GO WITH THE LOCAL DOC BECAUSE HE'S "CONVENIENT" - WRONG!!!!!

Nick is trying to tell you - research other docs.

The reality is if you are having problems finding negative or positive feedback on a clinic or surgeon you should cross them off you list.

Everything Greatjob has stated is spot on the money, but especially the part about a lack any feedback - screams "Danger!"

I have met with 2 HT docs at this point - one a recommended surgeon on this site and another a coalition surgeon on this site. I still have questions about technique, procedure, and even integrity. One doc recommends FUE, the other Strip. Who is correct? Each was very adamant about their approach. I would GREATLY like to move forward and get on with my life. However, the key to moving on with my life is to hedge my bets now BEFORE a procedure (because there is no guarantee!), so that I minimize delaying my life by trying to go back for repair later on after a messed up first procedure.

Mmmmm......Belgian chocolate.....

westham1975,

Welcome! No one is stating that you need to look for a physician with only positive reviews. Even the best docs in the world have patients with sub par results from time to time. It's the nature of the procedure and cosmetic surgery in general.

However, the best advice anyone can give you is to carefully research each and every hair transplant doctor you are considering. Do not allow cost and proximity to rule your decision-making.

One resource for choosing a physician is our recommendation list. We are very clear that this list is not comprehensive. There are physicians performing ultra-refined follicular unit hair transplantation with a high degree of success that are not currently recommended by our community. However, if a physician is on our recommendation list, it is because they are skilled, have an experienced staff, are ethical and, above all, consistently produce natural and detectable results.

To view the list of physicians we recommend, click here. To learn about our criteria for recommending physicians, click here.

In the UK, we recommend Drs. Bessam Farjo and Nilofer Farjo who are both members of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.

Also, world renown FUE specialist Dr. Jose Lorenzo of Spain is now performing surgery in the UK in association with the Farjo Clinic.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Malkani. He is definitely not a professional. Also, he is a liar.

So, I had 2000 grafts beard transplant. He said "it is very easy and scarless procedure". Not really...

The procedure took much longer than he said and it was painful as hell. After one week I noticed that something went wrong but Dr. Malkani did not answer my messages. My face was swollen and extremely red. The next 6 months were hell. In 2 months after FUE I shaved my head and I saw terrible scars and discoloration and I did not expect that at all! He told me the procedure does not leave any signs. So, he just lied about it and now I cannot wear my hair as I like. I am not going to explain all the terrible stuff and depression I went through, just what I am left with now. I had perfect skin on my face, now it is all scarred (scars of different sizes) and discolored. I have A LOT of ingrown hairs because he implanted grafts way too deep (that is what other clinics told me), the shape of the beard is terrible (so I am removing it with laser) and I paid more that 5000 GBP for all this nightmare. I really hate Dr. Malkani with all my heart. He is a butcher and a liar. If someone had a similar experience with him just let me know. I would love to open a collective court case against him.
