Regular Member SkinEd Posted April 24, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted April 24, 2013 On my last bottle of Kirkland Minoxidil and decide to try the foam. What are the pros and cons involved? Is the foam more effective then the liquidm hence the price difference? All advise appreciated.
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted April 25, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 25, 2013 I've used both liquid and foam. Most of the time, I've used generics. I much prefer minoxidil foam because it's non-greasy, non-irritating and fast-drying. Both contain 5% minoxidil and should be equally effective. Senior Member michaeljames Posted April 25, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 25, 2013 Hello SkinEd; The 5% solution works best for most people. Liquid or foam is sometimes just a personal preference. If one or the other seems to work better for you; keep to it. Regular Member Boba909 Posted April 27, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted April 27, 2013 I use foam during the day time as it helps to style my hair. At night, I use the liquid as it's more cost effective and also seems easier to penetrate directly into the scalp as it seems like it's less absorbed by hair strands. Kirkland liquid is pretty cheap. For foam, I use Rogaine, both 5 %.
Senior Member greatjob Posted April 27, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 27, 2013 you can get generic foam now. I use the Kirkland brand from costco and if I remember right it's like $60 or so for a 6 month supply. I will never use the liquid again, there is no comparison.
