beard transplant

Body Hair Transplantation (BHT), including beard hair transplantation, is generally more expensive than standard hair transplant surgery.

During BHT, the body hair grafts are removed using the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) process, and implanted into areas of balding scalp. Because the process is more labor intensive, the grafts can be more fragile, and the procedure takes longer, BHT is generally more expensive than FUE.

Although exact cost figures are difficult to obtain, some body hair transplantation clinics use a sliding price scale, such as: $8 per grafts for the first 1,000 grafts, $7 a graft for cases between 1,000 and 4,000 grafts, and $5.50 per graft for a BHT session larger than 4,000 grafts.

Any interested patient should remember that BHT is usually only considered after the regular scalp donor supply is exhausted and standard hair transplantation is not longer a viable option. What's more, most body hair experts believe beard hair grafts are the most similar to normal scalp hair and should be utilized first (if possible).

Hope this helps!
