Regular Member amanmehra11 Posted January 18, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Hi, I noticed blood in two places in recipient area yesterday. I cleaned it with towel and had shower. Today again I noticed blood in same two areas. I couldnt see any pimple there. Yes I admit I scratched a little during applying shampoo. I had HT almost 2 months back. What can be the reason for it.Did I damage my grafts? Edited January 23, 2013 by amanmehra11
Senior Member Janna Posted January 23, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 23, 2013 It's likely mild case of folliculitis. You are not damaging your grafts, however, you should treat them appropriately so that you don't damage the surface of your skin. It's never good to pick at the scabs or scratch them. We discussed folliculitis with you before, right? Senior Member Janna Posted January 25, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 25, 2013 Folliculitis is an imflammation of the hair follicle(s). Many patients get them within the first 2-3 months after surgery. They look like pimples. Some cases are very mild and typically go away by itself. If you get more than half a dozen at a time, you should contact your hair physician to get them treated with antibiotics. You can start the treatment yourself without meds if it's a mild case by applying a clean, hot wash cloth to the affected area couple times a day. This draws up the pus like lesion to the surface. You can lance it to free the pus. Apply an antibiotic ointment after. If it continues further take the safe route and call your HT doctor, mate. I mean it is neither donor area nor recipient area. Is this also common?. In all pimples occur any where ,mostly in donor area and area not covered in HT
