Can I do FUE - no more donor hair for regular transplant

Recommended Posts

I had a regular linear cut HT done a few months ago by a top notch doctor. We did 4500 grafts but the Dr said I did not have anymore donor hair available for my crown. He estimated I'd need another 5,000 grafts for the crown.

The hair on the back and side of my head is so thick you need a lawnmower to get through it. To me it looks like enough hair there but not enough elastic skin to cut out.

So can I do an FUE and take individual hair folicles out of the thick sides/back of my head?

FUE does not require elasticity like FUT does, so yes you can get that done if your donor hair is of good quality. There are scalp exercises that improve elasticity so patients are able to have another procedure, but that again needs to be examined after doing the exercises for some time.

I am a consultant for Dr. True and Dr. Dorin. These opinions are my own.
