Senior Member rws Posted March 11, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2011 Hi everyone, Just wondered what people's experiences were regarding numbness in the recipient region. I've just reached 1 month post-op, and the area is still pretty numb to the touch, although I have noticed the sensation beginning to return. How long have people found it takes for the whole recipient to return to a completely normal state? Thanks, R.

Senior Member aseda1979 Posted March 12, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted March 12, 2011 Headaches were there the week after the procedure, it's a lot better now that Im on my 2nd week post op. My scalp is numb though... I guess after 3 months the sensation normalizes a lot http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1989
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted March 12, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted March 12, 2011 I'd say 90% of the feeling came back for between 3 and 4 months also. Senior Member Louise Posted April 5, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 5, 2011 rws, It is common for patients to feel numbness in the recipient area. The recipient area can be numb for 6 to 8 weeks after a hair transplant. Rarely it can take longer for the feeling to come back. I hope this helps. Regular Member hairsprint Posted April 9, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted April 9, 2011 Pretty much similar experiences here. Am at about 3 months post my HT and I still feel some numbness, though about 80-90 % of the original feeling is gone. I read somewhere about someone experiencing numbness even after an year post the procedure. I would assume such an experience isn't too common though...
