Treebranch
I experienced pretty bad side effects with propecia and was wondering if using rogaine as a topical alternative was safe for someone like me.
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted November 16, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted November 16, 2010 Treebranch, The most common side effects of Rogaine (minoxidil) are scalp irritation and itching. Rogaine does not carry the same potential for sexual side effects that Propecia (finasteride) does. These medications work in completely different ways and experiencing side effects with one does not necessarily mean you will experience side effects with the other. All the best! Regular Member Dv Posted January 6, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted January 6, 2011 Have tried propecia at a lower dosage? I used to take 1.25g of finasteride and got too any side effects too. I'm now at .5mg of propecia and am TOTALLY fine. And my hair is definitely thickening in the crown area. I started using rogaine as well (5mg)
