experiencing some unusual patterns of loss and gain - anybody else have the same?

Recommended Posts

hey guys,

so heres a quick rundown of what ive been experiencing.

i am 28 yrs old, and about two years ago in march, i had my first HT, about 1300 grafts. since then ive also been on propecia, vitamin b6,b12, saw palmetto, fish oil, and minoxidil.

it took awhile for me to see any kind of improvement, but finally at about the 9 month mark, i started to notice a difference. however, when the following march rolled around, i saw a great deal of loss, only to have it recover again in april/may. and ive seen this kind of pattern like clockwork over the last few years since my HT. every march, the same story, accompanied by an itchy scalp. im not sure if its just a coincidence that this is the same month that i had my HT or if it has something to do with the cycles of hair growth. either way, the doctors and consultants ive spoken to have never heard of this before. anybody else have a similar experience?

so this year was the same as the rest. but in april and may my hair never looked better! it was so full and i was ecstatic! i thought i had finally beaten it for good! but after the first week of june, ive noticed excessive loss. this of course has been extremely frustrating and ive stepped up my efforts in every way - from doubling up on my propecia every other day, to purchasing green tea for the supposed benefits of EPCG, to even applying vitamin b extract directly to my scalp. the ONLY thing i could think of is that for about a week and a half between may and june i was without propecia before starting up again. ive heard that propecia can cause hair loss before it helps. could this be the reason for my losing? is it just that i weened it out of my system for that week and when i started up again it had to kick some hair before it could grow some in?

any insight would be greatly appreciated
