Side Effects of norvasc

Recommended Posts

My doctor has prescribed me to take norvasc. During a routine checkup I found to be suffering from high blood pressure and angina. I am not a great admirer of chemical drugs because of the side affects generally associated with them. As norvasc is the most suitable drug present in market for high blood pressure there is no other alternate in front of me. Therefore I want to know what the fallouts of norvasc are. Please help me.

From the Norvasc website:

NORVASC is indicated for high blood pressure and angina. In clinical trials, the most common side effects for NORVASC versus placebo were edema (8.3% vs 2.4%), headache (7.3% vs 7.8%), fatigue (4.5% vs 2.8%), and dizziness (3.2% vs 3.4%).

Seeing as you already have angina, it doesn't look like healthy diet, weight loss and exercise alone are going to be enough and you'll have to stick with the meds. Of course you can slow down, or even halt, the progression of your coronary heart disease with diet, weight management and exercise...
