Regular Member ninedonealready Posted August 28, 2002 Regular Member Share Posted August 28, 2002 I have had many procedures and have a very large donor scar. This scar was used six times for transplants. It was last cut into about 14 months ago, but is still red. I realize the scar size won't improve on its own, but will the redness go away? Guest
Ninedonealready: Redness usually fades with time to a final hypo pigmented scar (whiter than adjacent skin). If your scar is wide and you are reasonably complete with your hair restoration, you may wish to discuss with your doctor a procedure designed to narrow the scar. -B.L.
