Linc
Hi, Does anyone know if shock loss is confined to hair surrounding the recepient or donor site? For example, if hair is transplanted into a region in which there is no hair, could there be shock loss in other, non adjacent, regions where there is hair? Senior Member kamin Posted October 19, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted October 19, 2006 As far as I know, shock loss is confined to the donor and recipient areas since the definition of shock loss is simply "the loss of hair following transplant surgery, either from the receptor area or the donor area." According to my research on the Internet, shock loss occurs by either the cutting of the hair in the recipient area while making the sites or from the actual trauma of the transplant itself in both the recipient and donor areas. Blood flow is temporarily obstructed to native and grafted follicles.
