Re-transplanting micrographs?

Recommended Posts

I had micrographs done several years ago and obviously I'm not happy with the results.

Can they retransplant this old graphs?

What is the success rate for this.

I've had two procures after the micrographs. Can retransplanting the old graphs affect the follicular units transplanted?

Jon B,

This is a great question.

Yes, transplanted minigrafts can be extracted and then re-distributed. I would imagine the success rate of this procedure would be similar as the success rate of FUE which is dependent on the hair restoration physician and clinic (extraction tools used, proper care of grafts, etc), and individual physiology. However, removing these grafts will leave scarring - hopefully minimal.

However, extraction of the minigrafts may not be necessary if they can be properly camoflauged with follicular unit grafting.

Learn more about hair transplant repair.

Best wishdes,

Bill
