Regular Member sah1974 Posted June 30, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted June 30, 2005 How can one really tell if their hair loss is normal. I lose hair like everyone else does on a daily basis, and it does not necessarily seem excessive, but I am curious as to how you can really tell if your hair loss is normal? I do take proscar 1.25 a day. Anyone with thoughts on this? Thanks.

Senior Member Robert_ Posted July 1, 2005 Senior Member Share Posted July 1, 2005 If by "normal" you mean that it is Male-pattern baldness you can pretty much tell just from the pattern of loss. If it fits the Norwood scale you can be 99.999...(ad infinitum)% sure that it is MPB. However, if you suspect it may be something else and/or your pattern of loss is patchy and/or irregular, see a qualified dermotologist or even your general practitioner if he/she is familiar with these issues. -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog
