Senior Member Eman Posted January 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 18, 2009 First five days you may experience some swelling, there will probably be some crusting, and redness in the recipient area. As long as you have a very loose fitting hat you should be able to explore as the swelling usually won't begin until day 3 or so. The best thing to cover your head will probably be the surgical cap you may recieve from Dr. Feller. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out... Senior Member latinlotus Posted January 19, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 19, 2009 I would not recommend exploring a city, especially New York city, after HT. HT is not exactly a walk in the park. You need to have some rest. I would suggest that you visit the city before your HT and then fly back on the second day after HT before swelling starts. ******** I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own. HT with Dr. Cooley on Nov 20, 2008 2097 grafts, 3957 hairs Proscar, 1.25 mg daily, skip the 5th day, started Nov 2007 My Hair Loss Blog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Cooley
Senior Member canadian_buba Posted January 19, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 19, 2009 I would agree, travel and enjoy life before the HT. I had lots of swelling from post op day 1-5. The only place I wanted to be was in my house away from pretty much everyones. Its very hard to predict how you will heal so be cautious when making post op plans.
