Guest
Hi hair experts. Ihad a HT about 3 months ago and really haven't seen much yet. The last 2 I had were 3-4 years ago so I forgot really how long it takes. Can anyone shed some expert light on this question for me? Dr. Charles did the work. What's the latest on him? Thanks. Guest
You should not be concerned if you have little if any growth at three months after your transplant. While some growth may be evident as early as 8 weeks, it often takes longer. The hairs will not all appear at once, they will gradually fill in. From this point onward you should see gradual steady emegence of new hair so that each month will be better than the last. The treatments usually acheive maturity at ten to twelve months. It is common to have pimples which come and go as the hairs emerge. Once all of the hairs have emrged the pimples usually stop. It is aggravating that it takes so long, but so far we have no way of really speeding this process up. Some practitioners have suggested using minoxidil, but this is of unproven value. If you haven't already done so, it would be a good idea for you to check in with Dr. Charles to get his evaluation.
georgie
Jo, What's this about pimples? What's that like..whiteheads or something? Does every follicle get that when the hair emerges? What's the discomfort level and healing time for that? Sounds like part of the deal but what a drag, especially with thin hair and a pimply scalp..not a good look. Senior Member EastCoast Posted February 24, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted February 24, 2003 Why do some people have HT's every 6 months like Pat and other I read on this site? Is that dangerous, can you kill grafts ?
