Avacor is basically Minoxidil with some Saw Palmetto and other (useless) stuff thrown in.

You can buy generic minoxidil OTC and save yourself tons of money. Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (Finasteride) are the only FDA-approved medical treatments for hair loss.

Avacor is able to claim that their concoction is FDA-approved because it does contain Minoxidil but you would be much better off (as well as your wallet) if you simply applied Minoxidil.

Many hair loss sufferers utilize Propecia and Rogaine successfully.

It never hurts to contact a doctor for either. But for Propecia, you really should. As for Rogaine it is over the counter.

Propecia is better, but combine the two, and it is generally even better yet.

You can buy Minox, at most pharmacies. Just follow the instructions for application.

5% is obviously better.
