Overall Avodart has significantly more side effects than propecia. There is a higher increase of sexual side effects as well. I do not place many patients on Avodart, but perhaps others will comment on their experiences.

I took it for the whole month of Oct 07 and it positively MURDERED my sexdrive. Couldn't even masturbate. Still recovering.

 

Definitely NOT worth it.

I have been taking it for almost 30 days.

 

Took 1mg the first week and it killed my sex drive. So I was dropped (by Doc) down to .5mg and after three days my sex drive came back.

 

I seem to be fine now with no side effects.

I switched to Adovart and Rogaine Foam almost a year ago. I have been on Propecia for 8 yrs and it totally was losing it effects on my hairloss.

 

I shed like crazy for 6 months, And recently have stopped. Does it work better in maintaining? Its really hard to say. What do i have to compare it to? I am 39 and have two older brothers that are nw 5 or 6. I have thinned but still have alot of my hair. I really believe it just helps in slowing mbh down. Of course i am scared to halt in talking it.

 

As far as my sex drive. It might have made a tiny difference but i feel okay. When i first took adovart my breasts were sore for a month and i was getting head aches. after two month i felt fine.....
