Regular Member tofueornottofue Posted July 2, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 2, 2008 Concerned that if I were to switch to proscar from propecia (have been on propecia for 4 yrs) could this result in a bad reaction and loss of hair? I don't want to upset the apple cart just because proscar would save me a few of the American peso's. Thanks T

Senior Member hoose Posted July 2, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted July 2, 2008 Proscar and Propecia contain the same active ingrediant--finasteride; thus, they are identical; the only differance is proscar= 5mg of finasteride; propecia=1mg; split the proscar into 1/4's and you will essentially be getting the same dosage that you had with propecia; it is not critical that it be exact when you split the pill; by taking a 1/4 piece per day you will average 1.25 and will not result in any "bad reactions or hair loss."
