Senior Member hairbank Posted May 11, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted May 11, 2006 Jefff, I'll answer your question as best I can. I just started Proscar after my 2nd HT around 3 months ago. Before starting, I spoke to Dr. Wong about it. He advised to take 1.25mg (proscar quartered) every other day because it actively inhibits DHT for 72 hours thus you don't need a daily dose. So.........I chose to take it every other day. I've heard of some trying to stretch it out to 72 hours which I feel is risky. The main goal is to actively fight DHT which can safely be accomplished with a dose every 48 hrs. Hope this helps.
