jack2
if my expectations are wrong or right and therefore I should pursue this thing with the doctor or not. When I was getting a hair-transplant (I believe I was between NW4/5 more on 4 side). I asked the doctor to be as agressive as possible so I can get the maximum coverage. It was agreed pre-op that we should target somewhere around 3500 grafts. After the operation I was told that grafts put in were about 2500 and that should give good coverage all over. So now here I am 8 months later. First of all let me say that the results are divided. The results on the top /front head are just outstanding, they are comparable to anyone who would have gotten HT for 4000/5000 plus grafts. I could not have asked for better results. But when it comes to crown area- results are extremely disappointing-nothing zilch.. I know its only 8 months so there can be more growth in the crown area. So the question besides waiting, should I be grateful that I got such great results for front/middle portion of my head with such few grafts or should I take it up with the Doc that how come I didnt get full coverage when I had asked for full coverage and all we did was about 2500 grafts when we could have gotten 3500 graft in this age and time. I am not going to name the doc at this point so please dont ask for the doc's name but I just want to get other people's opinion if my expectation are over blown or I should have expected more from the doc. I will repeat the front/middle portion results are just phenomenal better than what I have seen todate on this forum with such few grafts. Its like I never lost any hair around that area Thanks

Senior Member el guapo Posted September 3, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted September 3, 2007 My amateur advice is to wait, Apparently the crown can take up to 1.5 years to fully mature, you're about half way there...
Regular Member stillhere Posted September 3, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted September 3, 2007 I heard that the crown takes longer, so just wait, also with only 2500 grafts, that's not a lot and they might have put more grafts into the front and less into the crown, not sure though.
