Jerry.DePasquale
My son (age 21) is hairless - head to toe - since his teen age years. I have lots of hair - albeit gray. Can I donate hair to him?

Guest
Jerry, I've seen this question asked several times, and the answer is that it won't work. The body will reject the grafts. From what I understand, it is just like any other organ transplant and when people have those, they must take drugs to allow the body to accept the new organ. These drugs can be very dangerous and are only used in life and death situations. I'm no docotr, but that's my understanding of it. Maybe there is another solution for him though. Maybe you should contact Dr. Paul Rose, he's a hair transplant surgeon, a dermatologist, and a real gentleman. Good luck.
