How long to recover?

I'm planning on having a HT by the Strip method.

I've been reading that it takes about one week for the bald spots to recover (until the crust falls off). Is that true?

And how long will it take until the scar at the back of your head heals? I mean not fully, just as much that it won't be seen under the growing hair.

And a last question: do you get a zero hair cut on your bald spots before the HT?

Hey Mailman -- regarding the donor incision, you couldn't even see mine the day after surgery. It still had the sutures in until day 7 but my hair is long enough to cover it.. so it all really depends on how long your hair is over the donor area.

 

I took 21 days off of work (go back to work this Friday.. finally!) and I do not recommend that long. All of my scabs fell off between days 9 - 11 post-op.

 

I didn't do anything to my hair prior to the surgery; however, Dr. Alexander did shave parts of my hair that he did the transplant on.
