swelling

Hi guys,

i was just wondering about swelling with HTs to other parts than the head.

For example if someone had a HT to grow a beard, or grow sideburns, or i even saw a pic of some guy who had 2000 grafts transplanted to his chest ( what a waste of FU's ).

For instance the guy with the beard, will he look like popeye or the guy with the chest hair like schwarzenegger with skinny arms? I really started wondering about this.

The swelling has more to do with the donor area than the recipient area (where the grafts are placed).

 

When you get a strip excision, they pump saline into your scalp, to elevate it away from the nerves and major blood vessels below, so they can make incisions with less potential damage.

 

A lot of the swelling is due to the saline. I believe guys who have had FUE (which does not require saline) do not have big issues with swelling.

 

If you had a (strip excision) hair transplant to put hair on your chest, the swelling might still occur on your head, and not on your chest, even though the chest was where the grafts were placed.
