  1. Hi guys, It's been over 6 years since I posted here regarding my experience with Dr. Mayer of MHr and now Bosley. His job was a failure and all he has done is create pimple like spots in the frontal area(area where new hair was transplanted). There is one strand of hair growing out of each pimple like spot and these spots are widely spaced apart hence very poor density. Infact in the pic below you wont even notice the transplanted hairs. Its that poor density Density is extremely poor and you can count the transplanted hairs its no more then 50. I paid this scum $5000 for 50 hairs. Now my big concern is as my hairline has started receding with age this spots are becoming very visible to the naked eye and I don't have enough natural hairs to cover them. I have attached a pic which I hope will clearly show what I mean. Can anyone adivse me of a doctor in UK that can assist in removing these pimple like spots. They are hugely embarassing and very noticeable and it is making me very self conscious around crowds. Many Thanks Alps PS: i have taken pic on my phone. if it aint clear then pls let me know and i will try and borrow friends camera to take pic
  2. Its been over 13 months since I had my procedure done with Dr. Mayer of MHR in San Diego and I am very dissapointed. I was at a Norwood 2 and Dr. Mayer took a payment of a 1000 grafts which he said will be more then sufficient to provide the kind of density and thickness I desire. 13 months on, the frontal area where the grafts were placed hasn't thickended up and I decided to seek the opinion of a HT doc in England where I reside. According to him a 1000 grafts should have been more then sufficient to thicken the frontal area. What he was able to conclude after examining my recipient area is that not more then 200 grafts have been placed which is why the recipient areas are very thin. In other words I had paid for a 1000 grafts but only around 200 have been placed. This is totally unethical. Dr. Mayer had been awarded by the ISHRS a few years ago but in reality he has turned out to being a CON. I fully remember that on the day of my procedure he was attending to 4 patients which is why he was running from one patient to the next consistently. I also remember that when it came to placing the grafts in my head, he didn't spend more then 15 minutes. I will be posting pics up soon. You'll also notice that these are old fashioned transplants. You'll notice the plugs and how artificial my hairline looks and thin too.
  3. I have added soe more pics. This time you can clearly identify the transplanted hairs. I want to know what your opinions are for 6 months worth of progress. I really would appreciate your comments and advise regardless of whether it's positive or negative.
  4. It was around 1100 grafts, 1076 to be exact. Thanks for your input Bill. The other pics that I will post on here will be 3 weeks post transplant. I'm assuming they will still be good for comparing the progress been made upto today.
  5. These are the only 2 pre-transplant pics I have. Please let me know your thoughts and if these pics are helpful. Now I did take alot of pictures of my hair and head at different angles 3 weeks post transplant. These pictures were taken during my vacation in Africa and they are stored on my dad's computers. He is technically challenged but I will try and get them of him this week. We can also use those to compare my hairline progress. For some reason left side is thicker then right side. In other words mre growth on left side and minimum growth on right side.
  6. My 6 month pics. My pre-transplant pics were taken by Dr. Mayers assistant. There's only these 2 that were given to me. So I have tried my best to make the angle at which my 6 month pictures were taken to be the same as the ones pre- transplant. I have added more 6 month pics on 27th May. My Transplant was done on November 20th.

  8. I had posted 6 months ago regarding my transplant procedure with Melvin Mayer of MHR. I was at a Norwood 2 receding to 3 at the time. I was told by Dr. Mayer that it would be for 1100 grafts placed in the frontal areas. It was to patch up my hairline. It will be exactly 6 months tomorrow from the day he treated me. I will be posting my beofre nd after pics. In all honesty I am not impressed and I am still very thin in the frontal areas. There has been new hair growth but I still look bald in those areas. In other words there is no density. I have also experienced a lot of shockloss. Before I make any further comments or criticism about Doctor Mayer, I'm going to upload the pics tomorrow and then maybe you guys can have a look and tell me what you think.

  10. It has been 7 weeks post operation for myself and I am currently travelling in Afrcia. There is a lot off sun exposure in this part off the world. Even though I have been cautiious with a hat when I'm in the sun, occasionally there have been times when I have been in the sun without a hat for periods off 10 to 20 minutes. I believe this may have happened 7 times in the last 2 weeks when I was in the sun for short intervals (10 to 15 minutes) without any protection. Should I be worried? A response from a doctor or anyone knowledgeable wouls be very much appreciated.
  11. Hey Ron, I have really heard some great stuff about you on this site and really wish I had known about this site before having my surgery over 2 weeks ago with Dr. Melvin Mayer of MHR. I have seen alot off crap about MHR on this site and hope I haven't made a bad decision with Dr. Mayer. I am unable to find much info about that Dr. but realise that you have done some studies with him and was wondering if you have personally come across any off his work and what would your thoughts be. I am 26/m and have a thick head off hair but receding hairline and had 1000 grafts in the frontal area. Look forward to your response.
  12. I never took any pics after surgery but it has only been 2 weeks. I still believe its not too late post some pics now as we can still compare after 3 months and 6 months. Even though MHR may have issues overall, I feel very optimistic about Dr. Melvin Mayer. Well let's see. Only time will tell. But I sincerely wish I had come across this forum alot earlier. However, I do believe that Everything Happens for a reason and a purpose so maybe I was destined to have my surgery wih Dr. Mayer and that could be a good thing. Lets wait and see.
  13. I went to Dr. Mayer of MHR 2 weeks ago for my surgery. I was nervous and they did make me feel phenomenal and was well taken care off during the surgery itself but in the end it's the results that matter. I will be keeping you posted with my results. I found Dr. Mayer very ethical and professional but had concerns regarding the sales consultant. I am 26 and still have plenty off hair but my hairline is receding. I never knew much about such forums till after my transplant and kinda feel discouraged after having read so much negative about MHR. Now that my surgery is done I am keeping my fingers crossed and sincerely hope that this was a good decision. I'll keep you posted with pics eventually.
