Yep, will continue religiously with the treatment, just that when I see healthy hairs fall, it worries me. I'll wait it out! One last question, how do I make out its working?

Hi, Its come to my notice, that in the past 1 month after starting Minox and Finasteride, I have lost hair from a number of places, at some places my hair was very thin, others normal, with the result that the scalp is easily visible there. This includes some frontal hair on the hairline too! Is this the effect of drugs working(hair shedding) or aggressive MPB? Any way to tell? 28, NW 5 diffused, hairline intact.

Hi friends, @Ko I would like to know the amount of time I need to apply Minoxidil and keep it on, and allow it to dry up. Is 20-25 minutes good? I apply Minoxidil twice a day. However, in the mornings I apply Minoxidil, leave it on for 20-25 mins and then cycle to work. After reaching office, I perspire. So, what's the best way out here? Does it require upto four hours for Minoxidil to dry up/get absorbed? Should I apply it early? Thanks a tonne in advance fora members, Quasar

@Ko, David and LosAngelesHair, thanks a tonne for giving me that confidence! I am applying Minoxidil twice a day and taking 1mg/day Fin diligently. About 18 days into the course. I will continue with this treatment and gauge things after 6 months. One last question though - Is it possible to get some of the pre-minoxidil hair, that I would have shed before I started with Minox+Fin? Has anyone had success with it? If so, what were the results?

Hi all - As always this forum is turning out to be of immense help and guidance to me. I apply Minoxidil(but an Indian brand - Dr. Reddy's with the same ingredient and quite reputable) twice a day. Since I have diffused loss and thinning, I apply it at a number of places. Is it okay to comb your hair after 20-25 mins, when your scalp is semi-dry. Also can I use brylcreem to style my hair at that time?

Hi all - A fortnight back(23rd Sep), I started with Minoxidil + Finasteride 1 mg/day. I've begun to shed lot of hair or so it seems. I am actually a NW5 diffused and am afraid the hair I shed now would not fully come back. Also, my age is 28, so I think that'd mean aggressive MPB. Should I drop using Minoxidil? And continue Fin 1mg/day. I intend to just keep/maintain my hair for now. What are the chances of growing the shedded hair back without Minoxidil with just Fin alone? Worried!

Hi Spanker, Thanks for the reply, thought not entirely encouraging! Is the HT difficult, because of my donor area, or too large a scalp to cover or something else? Also, what on the Norwood scale would you put me at? Is it diffused? Also, can Minox + Fin thicken some hair/at least stop further progression?

Hi friends! I wanted to know, from what you'll think, how does my donor area look like? Does it have good donor scalp laxity? Am I a good candidate for HT? Posted pictures of sides, back, front and top.. My hair has thinned a great deal over the top and back. But, my hairline is still intact and has not receded. Also, by the looks of it, could I be a NW 4/5 diffused or more? With Fin 1mg/day, can I expect to maintain this hair and wear them really short? Thanks, Quasar.

Hi all, I am on 1mg/day Finasteride and Minoxidil 5℅ twice a day. Its been a fortnight since I am on meds. I am 28 years of age. Would Fin help me keep my existing hair/thicken it? Or is it too late and I should consider taking Dutasteride, instead of Fin. Could you also tell me the exact degree of my hair loss from my profile-pic?

How can I tell, if this is the the initial shed, and if yes, should expect these hair to grow back? I didn't have much hair to start off with, as you can see in my profile pic. I am just hopimg this is the dread shed. But, I have still maintained my hair-line.

Hi all, Its been 10 days since I have started Rogaine 5% and Finasteride 0.5 mg/day and Biotin 10mg. How long into the treatment should I wait before expecting any results/hair loss stabilisation and some regrowth. Can I comb my hair after applying Rogaine. How long should I wait to let it get absorbed? Also, could I apply oil to my air after a couple of hours. Will I be able to maintain my existing hair? I want to wait for at least 1.5 years before going for an HT. My age is 28, I am a Norwood 5 diffused. The minoxidil makes my hair very dry. 5 days back, I massaged my hair after 5 hours of minox application, and lost lots of hair(80-100), which left a spot on my head. The spot has grown in size. There are few thin hairs in the area. Is this the initial shed? Should I also step up my dose for Fin from 0.5 mg/day to 1 mg/day? So far, no sides.

Okay, thanks Matt! How long into the drug should I see if there are any sides(especially sexual sides)? Also, I plan to take .25mg/day to start with. Would that be a low dose to start with?

Okay, I read up a bit about Fin's side effects. I am just 28, and about to get married. So, instead can I just use Rogaine and not take Propecia.

Hi Matt/Ko, Happy and disappointed at the same time. Happy about the fact, that it will contain my hair loss. I read about a few people on the forum, who've seen some good results with regrowth after about 4-6 months of Kirkland Minoxidil. I was under the belief, that after initial shedding, new thick hair would grow evenutally! For the first couple of years, I really tried to put things under the carpet. It was not until I turned 26, I realized I need to treat my hair-fall and baldness problem. Initially, what started off as a small bald patch, spread in the entire crown area. Although, I am extremely cool, calm and try to stay confident, the fact that I am continuing to lose hair does scare me. It was not until six years into my hair loss(I am 28 now), that I've just started applying Kirkland Minoxidil 5% + Dr. Reddy's 1 mg Finasteride. I am also taking some ProteinX Supplement, Biotin 10mg. I plan to curb any further hair-fall followed by a hair restoration surgery, with the expectation of decent results in the next couple of years.
