  1. From what i have leanrt from here and other forums, I have only found positive reviews about Dr Devroye. I have also had a online and in-person consulation with him and in my opinion he seems ethical and professional.

All the doctors such as h&w, devroye, ferudini, feller etc... are excellent. So, go with your the one you feel most comfortable with and according to your needs.

If you need a mega session or high density then it has to be H&W though.

  2. Ultimate: The temple surgery is not performed by dr. Kulahci but by another surgeon of the same clinic. Only dr. Kulahci is recommended by this site.

maxzor, Dr Kulachi represents Transmed and she is the 'Head' of the clinic and of all the other Doctors. She is also the founder of the clinic. So any complaints arising from other Doctors at Transmed ultimately is the responsibility of the recommended doctor on this site.

A reputable clinic would take full responsibility of these genuine concerns such as clippers.

It would be good if Dr Kulachi can take part in this thread to explain what their say is on this.

  3. If someone in their twenties has HT and they are not informed about more procedures by the Doctor then i think they are in serious trouble some years down the line. Think about it they suffer hairloss at an early age and then eventually do a HT thinking that all problems will go away....they get on with life...probably get married and have kids a few years later and then find themself in trouble with the hairloss issue again. Now, its probably harder financially because they have more commitments. They go through the HT battle again.....

Im 27 and i know clearly that i need another HT at least, maybe two more (assuming donor supply is enough) to get the best end result. I just had my first HT last month and i am starting to think about the next procedure.

Some guys under 25s say they dont care what happens when they reach 35plus. But I think they say that because of their current desperation in trying to deal present situations. Thats why every Doctors must stress to under25s specially about at least two procedures even if family history does not show a severe baldness.

If i had to choose between hairline and crown i would ofcourse like most people choose a strong hairline than spreading over the entire scalp on the first procedure which in most cases gives a comb over appearance if not straight away than at least when more native hairloss occurs

  4. I just had a surgery by Dr Path recently and came back. While i was there i did see some red flag demonstrations blocking roads etc.. nothing more.

Just do a prayer before you leave mate and make sure you have spare credit card /cash, insurance etc for any emergencies and you'll be fine.

Oh yea, dont use any cabs to go to Dr Path office. Use BTS - safer as roads may be blocked with these problems.

  5. Maxxy,

I have a dry scalp so i think i would be using the Foam and not the liquid as i have read here that it can cause alot of side effects.

With regards to transplanted hairs, imagine if you were to apply minoxidil to the donor hairs then surely some hairs would thicken as not all hairs in the donor area are of same thickness, this means that some transplanted hairs would thicken if minoxidil was applied. Then if you stop minoxidil - it means these transplated hairs that have thicken will go thinner (original state). But my concern is if the transplanted hairs gets worse if minoxidil is stopped? has anybody experienced something like this?

    Bill,

I have similar hairloss like you had before your HTs and therefore i got to have more than one procedure. In the meantime i want to keep some of the existing hairs with minoxidil. I notice you are not using minoxidil, can i ask whats your main reason for not using it (after your first/second procedure) ?

  6. I really want this clear before i start using minoxidil. I have had HT over two weeks ago and planning starting minoxidil but i have a concern - If i apply it to the transplanted hairs and then stop using it a year or two later will they fall off?

I have Some transplanted hairs around native hairs as well so i cannot avoid applying on the transplanted hairs if i was to use minoxidil (except crown). Perhaps members who have had this sort of experience can contribute which would definitely help alot of people about this issue.

Also does Minoxidil just promote early growth or does it also thicken hairs?

And, do you have to apply it twice a day? Will it not have any effect applying it once a day? if applying once a day does it mean it will promote growth much later than if you were applying it twice a day?

Lastly if applying twice a day, do you have to shower it off twice a day? for example apply it night and morning but at both times do you have to shower first in order to remove the previous applcation?

    Please explain

  7. Welcome Zlatan to the start of HT researching. It never ends but thats good because it means you are learning more about hair loss.

First of all i want to mention that i am from UK as well and i have been wearing a hairpiece for nearly three years - what a waste of time, money and overloss hairloss!

Ive been researching on this forum for a good while now and have just had a HT done by Dr Path in Thailand. My is experience has been great so far but result is yet to be seen. I chose this doctor based on many things, mainly because of the many positive patient reviews.

Every Doctor here are good but they have different specialities and everybody has a certain favourite Doctor that they feel confortable with.

My advice to you would be to get on Finesteride *First* and now before anything. You need to stabilise hairloss first before going for a surgery therefore you are adviced to be on propecia (finesteride) for about a year before going for a HT.

Another thing is you need to decide which method you prefer to use Strip or FUE. That is dependent on your hairloss condition and age. You will learn about this more soon as you research.

Can you upload some pictures of the hairloss? and that way members here can understand what extent your hair loss is - that will surely help in deciding which method and which doctor to use.

  8. I ended up staying at the citin hotel in pratunam. Its inside a very busy shopping market / plazas etc. Its easy to get things to eat and do shopping. The hotel is excellent. Very clean with internet access. The staff are superb. In fact firsti booked it for a few days and then after the first night i extended for the whole duration.

Its not that close to BTS, but The hotel have their own tuk tuks which goes every half an hour free for guests. So getting to Dr Path was not a problem at all. three stops from the nearest BTS from citin hotel.

You only have top visit Dr Path 2/3 times.

Im on day nine now and my scabs are begining to itch and i need to shampoo now so better go.

  9. Finally had my surgery on 16th march! What a great experience so far.

I was so nervous before the procedure but everything went smoothly. I felt at ease when i met Dr Oravan and Dr Path, the man himself. I have to say his confidence gave me confidence.

I had 3192 grafts altogether. Expected around 3000, so that was good.

I just had my second shampoo today at the clinic. From tomorrow i will be doing shampoo myself.

My donor area was in pain first night but no face/eyes swelling or anything as i have the headband on - advised by Dr Path.

I just love my hairline and the grafted area at the front. Cant stop looking in the mirror. I know they will shed soon....

So far its a great experience although the result is yet to be seen. However i am optimistic that about the whole thing, therefore i will remain positive.

Dr path and his team are super, very helpful. Dr Path called me in my hotel room after surgery in the evening to check how i am. That really shows he cares for his patient.

I am taking pictures and will do at few days interval but cannot upload it yet as i do not have access to all that until i go back in london which is end of this month.

  10. Hi,

After discovering so many positive reviews of Dr Path, i have booked my surgery with him for next week.

I am excited about this decision but at the same time nervous as it involves having a scar for life. However, with an experienced Doctor who has been perfoming HTs for the past 20 years, i feel i am doing the right thing.

I want to say thanks to some of Dr Paths past patients who have been recommending hotels in another thread.

I will be staying in bangkok loft or citin pratunam for the first few days and then i will change to a more central location after surgery as i will be staying for two weeks.

I intend to do my frontal third first on this procedure as densely as possible and leave the crown for future, most likely. That all depends on how many grafts i get.

  11. Oh yeah, and do all Doctors take the worst case senario (if the patient loses or thins more hair on donor area/side) when taking of the strip or do doctors concentrate on the *best* grafts for survival rate and forget what will happen to the scar later in life, specially for under 35s.

It would be nice to hear from doctors as well. Is there anybody who is having trouble hiding their scar due to donor thinning?
