  1. As TC17 mentioned the ultimate number of grafts would remain the same regardsless which is first.

However, the reason why you should do strip first has other reasons.

When you do FUE first and then strip - that particular donor zone gets depleted (thinned out). Remember when you get FUE the doctors 'pick and choose' grafts from the donor zone meaning you donor area would not have the same density around.

Ask yourself, why would you get Strip later after FUE? simple reason - you would you need more hair. So, if you need a second/third procedure after FUE then whats the point in doing FUE first knowing you might need strip after.

FUE is suitable for Mild hair loss sufferers or touching up sessions such as hairline.

With strip your removing a layer of skin and some people can get even four surgeries and thus leaving FUE for *Reserve*, since hairloss is unpredictable.

Another thing, with FUE yields tend to be lower than strip. Again, why would you want to have less yield initially when its so important to get maximum yield.

Some people get FUE first because they are against scar. Before i had my surgery last month, i was too. However, looking at my scar now i dont think its that much of a big deal which is why i would do strip on my second surgery until my elasticity tightens. Then i would do FUE at the end to close scar after i have a decent head of hair.

One of the other thing to consider is there are not many competant FUE doctoes yet. Only a handfull at the moment. That said, there are some potential skillfull FUE doctors in the 'pipeline'.

So you see see that its wise to do strip first while waiting for more competant FUE docotors (and technology)in the coming years.

  2. sshaikh01,

First of all, there is no quick solution to HT. You have extensive hair loss, an NW6 on norwood scale. You could even be NW7 in years to come. You need at least 6000 grafts to achieve a decent head of hair. You will most likely need more than one session.

Most average mega sessions are between 3000 to 5000 grafts. To get more than that you will need to have excellent elasticity.

I hope this helps a little. Im sure others will add on their thoughts.

  3. Hey Cure, i will open up another post specific to scar as it is a big subject. Also, i wonder if the moderators are willing to create a separate section for scar results, as I believe this is just as important for those undergoing HT and it is a subjet in its own right...just a thought.

Im five weeks out now and before surgery i was ever so worried about the scar! So much that i spent many many days researching just on scars. However, I have to say Dr Path has done a great job because my scar is healing very well. In fact its hard to see now.

That said, i think scar is a huge subject in itself and everybody intending to have surgery should do enough research to learn about the consequenses of scar stretching, losing more hair, sides dropping, thinning donor, long term planning etc. etc.....specially NW4 plus patients.

  4. yes, Dr Keser has indeed impressed alot of us here with his portfolio of results. He seems to be doing something right.

Derma-plast and khan have produced a number of examples however, they just need to convince this community that their extraction zone and long term planning is in the patients best interest. I think they actually have produced about a couple of example recently to show this area of concern and imo are excellent. If they continue to do this kind of work and present it here then surely we would see a world class FUE surgeon amongst the top three quite safely.

I personally would urge *patients* to outline detailed account of their experience if anybody have procedure with Dr Keser, from before surgery to complete one year result by creating a patient blog on this forum. That way we can definitely evaluate the clinics work fairly.

I also want to say to Derma-plast, do not stop presenting your work here even if you face critcism (that only helps to improve) because i really think you are nearly there, just a matter of time before you see yourself as major FUE clinic in the HT industry.

  5. I came to UK from Bangkok on 30th april, so not that long ago. i stayed in Bangkok for two weeks.

I was late to my consultation the day before surgery because of the red flags blocking the whole of Vivtory Mounment. I had to first take a taxi until the taxi couldnt pass that area. Luckily, i then had 'Motorbike Taxi' who came straight away to give me a lift to Dr Path. Since roads were blocked, the mototbike went through the pavement as i was sitting with the rider thinking where hell i am.

Ofcourse i didnt use road transport the next morning to surgery, i used the BTS and there was no problem. (although i did see alot of crowd outside Dr Path office as i was walking from BTS - no trouble though)

I dont really think there will be any safety issues with regards to Hotels - one stop away from Victory monument. Its when you get in the crowd i reckon. But its better to hear from someone who is in Bangkok right now!

  6. djames,

I can imgaine your concerns man since its not only the ashes you have to worry about, its also the potential problems in Bangkok. But don't worry too much because nobody can stop natural causes. Just see what happens, if your luck provides you a hair transplant now then you will have if not then you would have to rescedule i guess. Things happen which nobody can do anything about.

I sincerely hope things clear up on your precious journey.

  7. Yes absolutely, do not get near any large gatherings. Also if the BTS becomes any problem, you might want to consider staying within a walking distance to the Clinic the night before surgery and the after so that you are not late for surgery. Remebe its not just about getting to clinic in good time but also about reaching hotel after surgery when you will probably feel dizzy! Think about that.

Hotels are very very cheap in Bangkok, so its worth considering. Perhaps go to Bangkok a few days earlier to monitor this situation.

I would personaly do everything to make sure i get surgery done but ofcourse in the safest approach possible.

  8. Finland,

Contrats! I think you have made the right choice selecting Dr Keser from what i can see on the pics. But, don't forget its ultimately the results that speaks for itself. So do please update us on intervals.

I also want to say that you have been brave enough to have surgery with a surgeon whom i believe many are waiting and speculating before they take the plunge based on seeing some of their portfolios. Im sure this braveness will pay-off once you see those hair-shafts sprinkling after a few months.

You contributions will be greatly appreciated by many who are searching for a world class FUE Doctor and remember it will also help launch the very FIRST FUE ONLY Surgeon on this forum.

  9. Four months to wait for a consultation! that doesnt necessarily mean its a good doctor. I had online consultations with at least 10 top doctors and one of my questions was when the timesclae was for consultations. Farjo was the only one with a lengthly time for consult. Im not the only one who had this issue, there were others - search under farjo and you will find it on this forum.

Every doctor has a strategy in terms of business. Some spend alot of time in meetings and advertising while others dont. Some do more than one operations per day while others only do one at a time. Some doctors choose a lifestyle to suit their needs.

If a doctor does not reply to an online consult promptyly or does not reply to emails, then what confidence do you have that they will respond to you should things not turn out they way you want. Don't get me wrong, this should not be the main decision factor when deciding. People often go with clinics they feel confortable when trying to make decisions and therefore these small things do sometimes matter to some people.

  10. Mop, its great that you are a satisfied patient. Your right there is no obligations for pictures, for anybody. However, Hundreds of members take pride and time to do that although they dont have to in order to help everyone evaluate results from different doctors which helps the HT industry as a whole.

I respect your decision but without pictures it means nothing, you know that as well. Even some surgery pictures would mean alot.

Good luck with your upcoming procedure.

  11. Dr Feriduni is the only doc i have tried to contact without getting a reply...

Keithodub, Im not surprised by that becuase last year this time i had online consultations and feriduni was one of the few who let me down with a late reply. It was after two weeks without an apology or anything....it seems its the norm for Feriduni clinic.

To me first impressions count as well as customer services, although HT decisions should not be based entirely on these issues. However i simply could not be asked to follow up with Feriduni afterwards. I might as well mention that Dr Farjo in Manchester was another late online consult. In fact they just sent an email saying to ring and discuss about Hair transplant. When i rang they said their CONSULTATIONS were booked FOUR months ahead! Let alone the actual surgery. Again i gave up with them.

Devroye as mentioned replied the very next day followed by an in-depth online consultation presented artistically. I was impressed and then decided to have in in person consult together with others. I did not go to feriduni for consult even though i was in belgium.

    beardywierdy,

I think Keithodub has done a fair bit of research before starting this discussion since he seemed to have narrowed his choices to Devroye, Feriduni, H & W, Feller and Harris. They are all excellent doctors. He asked for help in narrowing his choice even further so that he can make a wise decision. Any of these doctors can and have excellent examples of their work. Do, where is anybody jumping on bandwagon?

We all have different opinions and thoughts based on what we learn in this forum and through other ways. If you feel any advice here is wrong then please make it clear rather than saying that people dont know what they're talking about.

We are in fact very lucky to have access to this forums like this where education is at its best. This forum is the most 'least hyped' forum there is in terms of members honesties including the moderator who provides realistic and helpful advice here everyday in order to bald people.

  12. Nuckingfuts, I want to congratulate you on your FUE procedure.

Please do take pictures at every interval in order to show your result clearly as some of us here are keen to see Dr Kesers work.

You will see growing soon, not long. I had a FUT procedure by Dr Path and am one month out like you. This is the hardest bit but we'll get there eventually.

  13. Clipper,

I just wanted to add that Whatever the outcome (good or bad) in a few months time when you see transmed, please please make sure you update us here, Even if Taner treats you in a plush restaurant for dinner!

    Bill,

I think you are a really great guy, i dont think i could do your job keeping up with thousands of threads. You must have a super memory.

However im surprised to hear here that Dr Kulachi is being considered for Coalation?

Im not trying to divert this topic or anything, neither do i have anything against Dr Kulachi or her Clinic, but you mention She has some 'Exceptional results' here. Ive just looked at them carefully....

What i can see on the patient blogs is five members showing results..... I will go through them now >>>>

Clipper - This topic says his story

Danny - only one pic straight after HT

Getnewhair - 4 months out pics - Great Result for four months (Exceptional result)

HunkyMonkey - NW2 patient (i cant see any massive result as he has tiny little hairs already in the pre-op pics) -

Mahmood - 6 month out with a comb over result so far (Not exceptional)

So, you can see clearly that there are only five patients sharing their experience. And, out of the five only one has 'Exceptional Result', IMO

I really had to clarify this as i feel HT clinics should have enough NW4 plus successful results to prove thier competancy, specially to be a coalation Doctor/clinic.

Bill, this is just my opinion im sure you know your job very well when approving doctors here.
