  1. Curious what many of the members do for suture removal considering most travel out of state for their ht; Do they have a local doc remove them, etc....I can't imagine traveling back to your HT doc to have them remove the sutures 2 weeks later considering many travel by plane to get to their ht doc......thanks for they help!

  2. i was planning on getting a ht done in April; add more density and temple points (1200 grafts); i have had 2 ht's before; however, this time im getting the temple points reconstructed; thus, i'm worried if 1 week off is enough time to heal where i can look somewhat normal when i return to work a week later; temple points appear to be harder to conceal w/ native hair.

  3. Jim,

    a ht is a MAJOR decision; i was just looking at a repair session on this site a couple days ago; this guy had went to a clinic that disfigured him literally--gave him actual plugs and placed very low on the hailine and temples; Hasson and Wong repaired him and his hair looks great now but he lived w/ those plugs for a long time; check it out under the "photos by leading Hair Restoration Clinics section" on this site; if that doesn't change ur mind i don't know what will. your donor hair is precious and finite so it must be used wisely; if ur not happy w/ the results I guarantee you, you will be willing to travel to the other side of the world to get it repaired. so please take 6 months and research, check this site out, talk to recommended docs on this site before making a decision......

  4. i'm looking at having a small procedure 1000-1200 with a coalition doc to add more density; will not be lowering the hairline just adding more density; if i had the procedure on a friday, could i return to work on tuesday without it looking detectable; my hair is an inch long or so, so the suture line will not be an issue as far as visibility; worried about the receipent area; i do have a lot of native hair to help camoflage the receipent area

  5. i had a surgery scheduled for december w a coaltion doc; i have a few weeks off during that time (work in public school. just got papers for jury duty during a 3-week period that is during the same time as my surgery date; i have to call the evening before to see if they need me etc. if im on a case and it settles my obligation is completed and i'm done serving; however, this might make it hard to committ to my surgery; i'm only 2 hours from the doc......

  6. imo, in the front shot, something looks off; a hairline that low in the center is kinda rare for a guy in his mid 40's; also, usually when you see a hairline that low, it is much more dense; I'm not trying to be critical of the doc; sounds like the patient requested this to hide a scar he had there; i guess i didn't think the scar was that bad IMO. Also I need to take into consideration that maybe the plan was to add density to that center front area of the hairline in the next session--the post mentioned a scheduled future session. 2600 is not a large amount of grafts, especially when bringing the hairline that low in the center. Maybe there was a reason for such a low amount of grafts--cost, scalp laxity, donor density...I hope this doesn't sound critical, but that front shot screams HT to me; sorry if this offends anybody.

  7. 7 months is still early in the game; however you should notice some noticable growth by 7 months post-op; as a general rule, you should have over 50% of your final result by now; are you on finasteride to slow/prevent future loss? It is possible that you have lost some native hair in the last 7 months due to MPB progressing; thus, the net gain in hair is miniscule. As HairDew mentioned, pics would help members on this site to assess the situation.

  8. do not go there! spend 6-12 months researching on this site; a HT is a huge decision; do not let location be a deciding factor on where you go to get your HT--you will travel to the other end of the earth to get it repaired; there are coalition and recommended docs on this site that have a track record of providing high quality results. also, are you on meds? meds are a prerequisite to getting a HT--you want to stabalize your hair loss and maintain as much native hair as possible.

  9. from what i understand finasteride has a short half life; thus, everyother day would not be as effective as taking it every day; however, you would still get benefits from everyother day; but everyday would give more benefit (benefit being lower DHT levels; if you have mild/less agrresive MPB then everyother day might suffice;

  10. I would cancel your appointment with bosley; just do a search of bosley on this site and you will see that there are a lot people who have had bad experience with bosley; i would recomment that you take your time and research using this site; check out some of the coalition docs on this site; they have a proven track record of good results; with bosley the results are hit and miss; you only have one scalp and only so much donor hair so you want to get it right;

  11. jojo,

    it's best to wait at least one year after a HT before proceeding with the next; first, it takes at least a full year to see the full results of the ht; at 6 months, yor are only at 50% of your final results; thus, it is too early to assess; 2nd, it takes time for your scalp laxity to return; this will allow the doctor to safely take a donor strip. there are exceptions, but a general rule is to wait one year.
