  1. Thanks for the positive input. Your words of assurance make me feel more at ease
  2. Hi Again, I posted a few days ago and would like to give an update. I'm on day 12, had my stitches out yesterday by another Dr. being that my surgeon is over 300 miles away,(He was really impressed by the work because he stated that my transplant Dr. really knew what he was doing), and basically, all of my scabs have fallen off. As I noted on 7/27, the hair is still fairly thick on the right side of my scalp, thinner on the left side,(I still have somewhat of a natural mohawk in the middle), but the work on the temple areas and sides seems to be already healing. What I mean is that the scabs and hair started falling out around days 5 or 6 and it looks almost like no procedure was done there except a little redness. Also, the single hairs on the frontal hairline seemed to have fallen off around that time, too. I know that everyone heals differently and I followed all the post op instructions, but I'm wondering if I damaged the temple area somehow. Otherwise things are healing fine. Thanks for any input

  4. Hi, I noticed after day 5 or 6 that some of the scabs started to fall off, especially on the temple areas where there's only single grafts implanted. I also noticed that one side of my forehead region was shedding more than the other. In other words, the right side still looks like I have a crew cut as oppossed to the left side which looks thinner with more spaces. I'm in day 9 now and would like to know if this could be a normal pattern? Also, what does it mean when the instructions say no picking or forcing off the scabs. I know what not picking at the scabs mean but sometimes I can't help but run my fingers over my scalp, especially the forehead and a scab comes with it. I don't feel like I'm forcing it off but the scab or scabs seem to come off quite easy with hair on it. They almost look like the implants. In fact, some regions of my procedure don't even look like anything's been done to them. On the other hand, I hope I'm just a fast healer considering that the techs that helped with the surgery said that I was an ideal patient because the implanted hairs went in rather easy and quickly because I had no bleeding? They even ststed tht they underestimated the surgery time. Thanks for any input.

  6. Out of curiousity, how might the soaking my head at the early stages of post for a few minutes affect the sutures or the grafts?
  7. I soaked my whole head, but just for a few minutes. Thanks for the advice,
  8. Hi, I had about 1800 grafts done last Monday on my hairline, temples, and eyebrows and I'm totally paranoid that I'm damaging the implants somehow. First of all, I'm not used to wearing a baseball cap; therefore I've seemed to have bumped my head on the visor of the cap at least once a day since day one. There hasn't been any blood, but my head seems to be sore. Secondly, I accidentally woke up in the middle of the night around day three and scratched my head forgetting about the implants. Again, no cuts or bleeding, just soreness. And thirdly, while shampooing after day one, I laid back and soaked my head for a few minutes because it felt so good, then I read in the instructions not to do this until day 8. Am I being overly paranoid? I just want the best results possible. By the way, I'm still having a hard time sleeping at night due to the donar stitches, but I did resume light exercises at day 5 per instructions of the Dr. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

  10. Hi guys. I know I ask a lot of questions, and I'm really not trying to be difficult, but I have seen three surgeons and I got different procedure outcomes and estimates from each one. Now that I've got my choice zeroed down to one particular Dr. I've now taken another step by asking input from this forum. I guess that I should have been clearer with my questions or shown pictures because there's no way you could give me any objective feedback without that information. However, the feedback that you gave me was very informative. For instance, I've learned that all class 4's are not alike. Comparing my class 4 with Gorpy's is like comparing lemons and oranges. There really is no comparison in our balding patterns, hair texture, and hair color, but that's what I was classified as during my consultations. So now I can see why it would take less to fulfill my goals. Now it's just my personal choice of should I have the procedure done or not? By the way Gorpy, your procedure came out very nice
  11. Hi, I don't have pictures. In fact, I don't even know how to download them, but I'm curious as to why members on this board would refute the recomendations from my consult of one of the highly reguarded and recommended surgeons on this site? I was also told that my total coverage would be over 4000 hairs that includes the crown.

  13. Hi, I posted earlier this week asking if 50-55 cm2 was considered dense packing. The responses I received said that I needed to give more info in order for members to give advise. Well, the coalition Dr. recommended 1200 grafts to the front + 100 on each temple, and 800 on the crown. He also stated that that was the maximum amount that would be needed and that I'd be very pleased with the results. I'm in my mid forties, I have fine dark hair, I am considered a class 4, and have been receding somewhat since my early twenties. However, my crown didn't become noticable until my mid thirties. I've also been told that I'd be a very good candidate for a transplant. I've even considered shaving my head, but my hairdresser won't do it because he says that I have too much hair and it would be a shame! Thanks for any input.

  15. The coalition doc that I'm thinking of going with estimated that I'd need about 1200 grafts to the frontal hairline area and about 800 to the crown. He told me to expect about 50-55cm2 density to the hairline and said that I'd be very happy with the results. Is this considered dense packing? I've noticed some members on this board would only be happy with 70-90 cm2. Why such a descrepancy?

  17. Does anyone have any experiences with Dr.True regarding any eyebrow procedures. I've had a consult with him about some hairline work and thought that I'd like to get my eyebrows filled in more at the same time. When we consulted it sounded like a piece of cake to Dr. True. He seems to do good work on hairlines, but I can't find many examples of eyebrow his work. He seems very confident, though.
