  1. Basically, i was on dut and fin for 8 years.. got off cos of the sides of which one was tinnitus in my left ear I'm looking to address some crown loss (i'm a NW2) and just starting using minox, however it has brought back the ringing with a vengeance and looking for alternatives. what would you recommend in terms of topicals that would stop loss and may add some growth ideally working on a diff mechanism to minox e.g. potassium channels etc (i'm guessing the minox action also effects the hair cells in the ear given their hyper sensitivity....) Many thanks..!
  2. Hi all, hope we're all good! I am 30 and had 2200 temple FUT by the great Dr Rahal in 2008 and now have the following plan: a) 300/400 FUE in forelock - now as need a bit of a boost which should tie me over until.... b) 3000/4000 FUT in front 1/3 in 2 or 3 years time as a final transplant I am keen to do option 'a' through the most minimalist intrusive method possible - FUE and through no shaving (i think this should be achievable for 300/400 FUE). Who would you guys recommend for the FUE session? Many thanks
  3. Hi Fookinhair, You are right - my hairline would look a bit odd if it all receeded to leave hair growths on each temple! I thought about this before opting for temple work and I plan to probably have one more op once the frontline recedes where i will look to pack the hairline and whatever else the donor area will stretch to(maybe front 1/2 to 2/3rd of the normal hair area) to achieve a good front on view. For me it's all about having a strong hairline to frame the face (think Prince Charles). I'd much rather have this and a bit of visible crown than have a large forehead but a more populated crown. It would suit my face structure a lot more. And who knows... ...cloning in 10 years time to cover all - fingers crossed! Genesis
  4. Hi Jon, yep - you wouldnt be able to detect anything. I normally go for a grade 4 on the back on the sides although i did keep it a bit longer for the first 8 months as a precaution. RE the hair line: I arrived wanting to restore an 18yr old hair line but he advised that this would look silly - he drew the pre-op lines of what he thought would be natural and what we both agreed on. The pics show best what this was. IMO having anything futher fwd would have looked over 'cosmetic' once the hair grows to it full after 8mths+ Hope this helps. let me know if you want more info Genesis

  6. Cheers for taking the time to reply guys and good to hear. But here's a thought for you - is there any scientific fact that the hairs have taken root and transferred their matrix by day 8 - 10. The only research paper is the pdf by Bernstein but i have to question his results. On day 8 he found that 50% of all hair pulls lead to graft loss but on day 9 there was none. Now this is not a gradual slowing down in graft loss. To go from 50% of loss to no loss in only 24hrs is not what one would expect when having humans as test subject as we all heal etc at a different rate. Further, the two doctors who have been constantly applauded on these pages for their high density hairlines are the two doctors that are extremely strict in ensuring that grafts aren't disturbed until at least day 28 which is the first day you are allowed to wash the transplanted area directly. Coincidence? I think it's an important debate with the worst case scenario being that 10 days has just been assumed due to a post around 2000 and it is now taken as the law but actually causing loss of grafts. Thoughts? Any personal experiences that actually support/disprove the ten day rule?
  7. Hi all, Just got a quick question. I'm at day 12 and as per can be expected,i have recently started to shed some transplanted hair. But it seems to be specific hair that is being shed. There is some transplanted hair has taken root and is growing well in size and thickness. However, there is some hair that has not really grown as much at all and it is this hair that is coming off whenever a crust comes off during gentle washing (pouring on of water only) My concern is that this lame hair never actually took root and was was just being kept in place by the scab. Thus the matrix of the hair was not transferred before it fell off with the scab. Any thoughts/similar experience and the likely end result? Thanks
