  1. Posted September 30, 2005 09:13 AM September 30, 2005 09:13 AM Hello all, Haven't posted here in a while. Decided it is time to get more HT work done. I am not going to my old HT doctor(he is not doing the kind of work I expect for the $$$ I have payed). Have had some previous work to restore my hairline and a little bit behind it(5 smallish HTS...between 280 and 600 grafts micros and minis). Now the rest is starting to fall out and I can really see the "pattern" developing. So I did some online consults with some area doctors and welcome as many opinions and stories as possible. I'm going to use either True&Dorin,Bernstein, or Dr Epstein who just opened an office in NY. I am trying to gather as much info as possible on these docs. I wish this board was around when I got my first HT so I could have made a more informed decision. FIRE AWAY! Thanks, Core

  5. G, I am 34, and have LONG hair...started really losing it when I was 26, got my first transplants at ages 26 and 28 to rebuild my hairline. From the pics I saw..you are fine right now and what you are noticing no one else is. I thought my hair was in bad shape when I was your age, but once it REALLY became bad I realized I wasted 5 years worrying about something that wasn't even bad yet. In other words, enjoy what you have right now... don't cut off your hair (there are not enough of us), keep taking the meds, and hang in there. I would kill for a head of hair like yours at this point. I've had 6 small sessions in the past 8 yrs, I refuse to cut off my hair. Hope this was helpful.
  6. Thanks for the input....unfortunately, I"ve done all that..the hair is thin enough in spots where it has almost and orangish glow to it...tried mixing them up...like I said inside is great, but ultra-violet light just screams LOOK AT MY HEAD. Thanks again.
  7. So no way around it then Huh? Guess I continue to wearing the do rag outside. Any other horror stories.
  8. I have light brown hair, and I use toppix, has anyone else ever had the problem of using this stuff outside in the sunlight....Indoors this stuff works great( I am a musician, and even stage lights don't cut throught it), but once you get out into regular sunlight, you can spot it a mile away... anyone with some input or same problems?
  9. I live in Ct and I've noticed that most of the docs discussed on the board are in Canada, Florida, Austrailia, are there any recommended docs in the Northeast? Any in NYC that someone could recommend. Thanks.

  11. Thanks Smoothy, who are these 5 docs and where are they located?
  12. I am 34, have had 3 successful transplants(about 75% regrowth), and 2 kind of unsuccessful ones(about 40% regrowth). I am on a low dosage of an anti-depressant, and anti anxiety meds which I was not taking when I had the first three procedures done....does anyone here have a similar situation with meds and did you have any regrowth problems? Thanks.

  14. Thanks for the quick replies, I was on anti-anxiety and anti-depressents when I had the last two, and not on them when I had the first three procedures. Not sure if that is something that would affect the healing or not. The doctor said that he doesn't think it is the meds.
  15. I'm 34, have had 5 smallish procedures(400-600)grafts, at a time. My questions are 1. First off I payed 3 grand per visit, is that the going rate? 2. My Dr. was Ivan Cohen in Fairfield Ct, anyone have any stories(good or bad)? 3. The last two times I've gone, hair has not come in all that well in a particular area.... he said he has not seen this before but said I may have a "dead spot" on my head that will not take to transplants. This is not good news.... For the most part I am happy so far, the front hairline looks completely natural, but I am beginning to thin out behind it. I have been on Minoxidil for 10 yrs, and tried Propecia, but had some side effects I didn't like. Have to use Toppix, or I end up wearing a bandana or hat. I just wanted to get some feedback... I just discovered this site today, and I think it's great. Thanks for your time, interested in the responses.
