  1. The other point that i want to make is do not be afraid to bargain with these doctors, you can get at least 1.00/graft lower than the first price quoted, for most people there are more than enough good docs in a geographical are so you are able to shop around.

  2. The name of the dr does not matter, paying by graft is "old school", there is no other cosmetic surgery in which you pay by unit. What you do is agree upon the area to be covered, such as 40 grafts/cm2 you and the dr. sign off on this, and you agree upon the price, this puts the patient back in control.

  3. Lets wait and see what his 12 month photos show.

Shouldn't a person lose a significant amount of recipient hair before starting this procedure?

How many clients do you turn away each month, or is everyone a candidate? What is the minimum age that your clinic will do a transplant on? Should the Hair Transplant Network impose age limits as part of their standards?

  4. We are seeing more and more of this, A patient of H&W posted is results at 5.5 months, and he had more hair in his before photos, then in the 5 month photos, in my opinion he should have never been done, he will never see his native hair again, and was just set up for future surgeries wether he can afford them or not, Doctors have to be more accountable and responsible.

  5. I am not justifying the behavior. What doctors do better than most is they settle out of court.

Ask yourself this, why have so many doctors both members and non-members given up their speciality to get into hair? There is no such thing as a residency in hair transplantation.

  6. The thing to remember is that doctors are human, they face the same moral and ethical challenges that we all do, they get into trouble with greed just as members of the clergy do. if one member doctor sees a patient and determines that the patient needs 1500 follicular units, and a second member physician determines that the patient needs 2000 folicular units, is the 2nd doctor unethical? does the patient care if the outcome is what he wanted? What about the doctors who work on patients in their early 20's?
